About Me
I was born and educated in Texas, where my early years instilled in me a love of learning and a desire to help others. After high school, I moved to New Orleans and enrolled at Loyola University, earning degrees in Psychology (B.S.) and Counseling (M.S.). I went on to complete my Ph.D. coursework at the University of New Orleans, before being called in an unexpected—but deeply meaningful—direction.
I became a nun and entered the Religious of Jesus and Mary (RJM) order and served for ten years as a counselor, teacher, and missionary. During this time, I developed a deep, service-centered spirituality rooted in compassion and accompaniment. These experiences continue to guide and inspire my counseling work today.
I have also been privileged to serve in a variety of other roles: as a lead clinician for the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization, a counselor for cancer patients, a school counselor, and a psychologist for the City of Las Vegas. I am certified to work with veterans with PTSD through Strong Star, the U.S. Department of Defense approved Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) program, and am also certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol developed by Dr. Stephen Porges.
In addition, I hold certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy – Level 1, Coherence Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I love continuing to learn new therapeutic approaches that I can integrate into the framework of Christian Counseling—helping clients grow in both psychological wholeness and spiritual peace.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, Florida, Ohio, Nevada, and South Carolina.
Today, I live in San Antonio with my husband, Mark, and our many beloved rescue dogs.
